Founded in 1791, Zwilling has produced high quality cutlery for nearly 300 years. Manufactured in Solingen, Germany, Zwilling knives are the epitome of precision craftsmanship. In addition to partnering with Zwilling to provide our guests the best possible cooking experience, we also created a “Nordlys Edition” online shop. Click here to see the knives we use in our cabins as well as the full line of Zwilling’s products:
Based in Austin, TX, Made-In partners with multi-generational manufacturers in France, Italy, the U.K. and the U.S. to craft and curate a superior line of kitchen products under one common brand. We selected Made-In’s 14-piece Executive Chef cookware set for our cabin kitchens. This set contains a combination of 5-ply stainless steel, carbon steel, and PFOA-free non-stick pots and pans. Happy cooking!
Portland, Oregon’s Ratio Coffee creates exquisite coffee makers. Their beauty is matched by the taste of their brew. We selected the Ratio Six model for our cabins. This quality machine is built from thick, precision stamped stainless steel. Its water tank is BPA free, and its water lines are made from handblown borosilicate glass. If you like pour-over style coffee, you will love the Ratio Six.
Furniture, Bedding & Linens
Room & Board
We chose Room & Board to supply most of our furnishings. Headquartered in Minneapolis, Room & Board’s clean modern aesthetic is the perfect complement to Nordlys’ architecture. Room & Board supports local communities by supplying 90% of its products from US manufacturers, many in the upper Midwest.
At Nordlys we strive to give our guests the most rejuvenating night’s sleep possible. We selected the Avocado Green Mattress not only because it is incredibly comfortable, but also, because it is hand-made in California with certified organic materials.
Quince Sheets & Towels
Is there anything better than the feeling of sliding under a set of crisp, smooth sheets? How about crisp, smooth, organic sheets? We partnered with San Francisco based Quince to provide organic bedding and linens for our guests.
Faribault Woolen Mill has been crafting quality wool blankets and throws along Minnesota’s Cannon River for nearly 150 years. We topped our beds with Faribault’s iconic blankets to keep you warm during those northern winter nights.
By the Yard
By The Yard is a Minnesota-based manufacturer of high-quality outdoor furniture. By The Yard utilizes recycled plastic bottles to transform waste into beautiful, long-lasting products. We selected the Sand Creek Adirondack Chair for our cabins because of its clean modern lines. Plus, by selecting these chairs we are also keeping plastic out of landfills. A win-win!
Breeo Fire Pit
Lancaster, Pennsylvania based Breeo invented the first “smokeless” fire pit in 2011. These American-built fire pits utilize “X Airflow” and double-wall convection to drastically improve combustion and reduce smoke. No more chanting “I hate white rabbits” to make the wind shift and clear the smoke from your eyes.
We built a mixed bike fleet for our guests. For casual riders, we went with NYC-based Priority Bicycles. For more adventurous riders, we went with Minnesota-based Surly Bikes.
Priority bikes launched in 2014 with a vision to create a hassle-free, everyday bikes for recreational riders. By using the Gates Carbon Drive Belt drive on all its bikes, Priority keeps riding simple and easy. That’s right. No chain and no grease! We selected the Priority Classic Plus for the Nordlys fleet. With three speeds and a coaster brake, this bike is simple and unintimidating.
Surly is a builder of no-nonsense, steel bikes. They value utility, versatility, and durability. We selected the Surly Bridge Club for the Nordlys fleet because it is comfortable and confident on both paved roads and dirt trails. If you don’t mind getting a little muddy, the Bridge Club is for you.
